The founder of Precision Economics, Dr. Brian C. Becker has served as an economic expert witness and consultant for nearly thirty-five years on behalf of corporations, law firms, governments, and organizations. Providing written and oral testimony for more than 100 trials and arbitrations both domestically and internationally, Dr. Becker has testified under direct, cross examination, and “hot tub” formats before judges, juries, panels, and mediators. In the area of transfer pricing, his trial testimony has included Coca-Cola and Medtronic in the United States, General Electric and McKesson in Canada, and Chevron and Roche in Australia. Engaged on behalf of multiple States Attorney General, Dr. Becker has provided expert testimony associated with deceptive trade practices alleged against TikTok.  In more than a dozen ERISA disputes; Dr. Becker has provided testimony on plan underperformance and damages.  Dr. Becker’s other testimony has included a mix of class action, false claims, international trade, international arbitration, and intellectual property matters.

After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Math and Economics from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Becker earned a Ph.D. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Applied Economics. Dr. Becker has served as a Professor for MBA and undergraduate students in Finance, Derivative Securities, Statistics, and Operations Management courses. Dr. Becker has published approximately 30 articles (and books/book chapters) in topics ranging from damages awards and discount rates to cost sharing buy-ins and licensee profitability.
